Our Mission

Awareness, relief, and helping hands

To spread knowledge and awareness about cancer — particularly leukemia and other blood disorders — in the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines; to fight the spread of the disease; and to bring relief and help to patients and their families through information, education, advocacy, financial aid, and voluntary medical services.

The foundation also aims to be an instrument of God's love, extending helping hands to its beneficiaries.

Our Vision

Recognized, supported, far-reaching

The Polar Leaf envisions itself as an established, widely recognized — both nationally and internationally — extensively supported, and well-funded organization championing leukemia and blood-disorder awareness, and extending help to patients in the PNP and AFP and their families in a wide scope and form of assistance.

It further envisions linking with other cancer foundations in the country and abroad, and in time extending help to victims of other forms of cancer.

Objectives

What we commit to

  1. Advocate for cancer awareness — particularly leukemia and other blood disorders — within the PNP and AFP, and develop strategies to reduce incidence of the disease.
  2. Extend knowledge on symptoms and early detection, and provide information on available, accessible, and affordable treatment services.
  3. Initiate linkage with other leukemia foundations here and abroad for exchange of information, registries, donors, and best practices in treatment.
  4. Generate funds through solicitations from benefactors, donors, and sponsors, and through fund-raising activities — mainly to extend financial assistance for patients’ medical expenses.
  5. Implement effective fund-utilization schemes and internal controls for efficient program implementation.
  6. Provide voluntary medical support, spiritual management, and counseling services to patients and their families, including guidance on palliative care.
  7. Encourage volunteers from the PNP and AFP, survivors, families, and experts from the medical, government, religious, and private sectors — and develop staff competency in cancer-awareness advocacy.
